A fusion of two names from the deep mythology: Valinor — the Blessed Realm, land of the Valar, whose name means the Powers — and Andor — Land of Gift, the name for the isle given to the faithful. The Realm of the Powers, the Land of Gift.

AN-teh-vis
n. The one who sees before.
Latin ante (before) joined to vis — a deliberate double root. From videre, to see: foresight, the pattern perceived before it arrives. From vis, force: strength positioned ahead of the event. To see first, and to be the force that precedes.
The Seer
To see first is to prevail first.
Valentor
va-LEN-tor
n. The capable one; the agent of strength.
Latin valens, valentis — strong, capable, prevailing — from valere, to be able, joined to -tor, the agent suffix: the morpheme that turns ability into a doer. Not strength. The one who acts with strength on your behalf.
The Maker

The founding
In the old stories, every great house had three powers, and the houses that lasted had them in balance.
First there was the Realm — Valandor, the golden ground, the seat that does not move. It fought no battles and built no engines. It held: the treasury, the law of the house, the long memory of every lesson paid for. A realm's strength is not what it does but what it makes possible.
From the Realm came the Seer — Antevis, who kept the high watch. While others read the news of what had happened, Antevis read the signs of what was coming: the threat on the road, the flaw in the record, the question that would one day be asked in a courtroom. The Seer's law was simple: the proof must exist before the demand; the warning must arrive before the harm. Houses fell for many reasons, but never while their seer was watching.
And from the Realm came the Maker — Valentor, who built the hands. Not tools, which wait to be held — workers, which do not wait at all: tireless, exact, ever-on, each one an agent of the house sent to labor inside the businesses of allies, so that a single owner might command the output of a hundred. The Maker's law answered the Seer's: what the Seer foresees, the Maker's hands prepare for.
One realm. One who sees ahead. One who builds the hands.
